I assist affluent families and individuals as well as foundations and endowments in achieving their financial goals by creating and implementing comprehensive wealth management strategies.
Qualifications
I am an experienced Portfolio Manager - Portfolio Focus, having spent 37 years as a financial advisor, the last 17 with RBC Wealth Management. I am a consistent member of the President’s Council and Director’s Council at RBC Wealth Management, indicating that I consistently perform in the top 20 percent of advisors at the firm. This is an honor attesting to the high-quality wealth management consulting relationships that I have developed with my clients, many of which have endured the greater entirety of my career. Those relationships are largely structured with a regimented approach to personalized long-term risk based investment management, incorporating a wide array of strategies. I earned the firm’s internal designation of Accredited Wealth Manager (AWM) through an education program sponsored by RBC Wealth Management and Michigan State University. This program is designed to provide financial advisors with cutting-edge strategies and training on the firm’s wealth management process. I am an active participant in the continuing educational opportunities that my firm provides, to ensure that I remain current in my field. I have passed the Series 7, 63 and 65 exams, and insurance licensed in the State of California.
Personal In 2006, I received the Dick McFarland Award, which distinguished me as the RBC Wealth Management corporation-wide Volunteer of the Year. This award recognized my deep involvement and leadership with InnVision...The Way Home, as well leadership roles in Rotary. InnVision was considered by many, during my affiliation, as the model organization in the U.S. for providing services to homeless individuals and families. I presently serve as Director and Treasurer of the San Jose Youth Symphony. I am also Director on the Board of Quanta Laboratories, Inc. an Environmental Testing Laboratory in Santa Clara, CA. I have served as a director on numerous nonprofit boards in Silicon Valley. I live in Morgan Hill with my wife of 49 years, Joanne, and several critters. Our daughter, Kylee, is a graduate of Santa Clara University School of Law and practices law in San Francisco, CA. I enjoy equestrian activities, and own and show Quarter and Tennessee Walking Horses, as well as reading, swimming, fishing, scuba, golf and classical music.
