I graduated in 1990, after four years of liberal arts study at Gettysburg College, with a Bachelor of the Arts degree. After a decade of hiring for and managing retail business for The Disney Store, Structure & The Gap I decided to change career paths. I have been guiding clients on their financial journeys since 1998, when I joined Morgan Stanley Dean Witter & Co. In 2005, I teamed up with my father, Charles Luck, at Ferris, Baker Watts, Inc. which was subsequently acquired by RBC Wealth Management in 2009.

 

I earned my CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP®) designation in 2004 from the American College and maintain my certification through the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. I have gained a more universal understanding of personal financial planning and the impact of my client’s choices on multiple aspects of their financial lives. This helps me guide my clients away from potential snares and costly mistakes. I coordinate with other professional advisors to find the best solutions to my client’s financial challenges.

 

For the second year running, I have been named a “Five Star Wealth Manager” award recipient, as recognized in the August 2011 issue of Delaware Today.

Activities

I am President of the Board of Directors for Mid-Atlantic Ballet, trustee for the Knights of Columbus, Holy Angels Council and a lifesaver at the blood bank of Delmarva. I am a member of the Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity Alumni Club and the Gettysburg College Philadelphia Alumni Club. I volunteer for Homeward Bound, a shelter for homeless families in Newark, DE. I am a former Grand Knight (2001- 2002) of the Knights of Columbus, Holy Angels Council.

Personal hobbies include the Wilmington & Western Railroad, home brewing lagers & ales, hiking, camping and water-sports. 
Thanks to my family:  My father, Charles Luck, a fine mentor and business partner; my son, Jamie, a freshman at University of Delaware, my daughters; Emily, a junior at St. Mark's High School and Daisy, who is homeschooled for 6th grade. Lastly, I couldn't survive without the love and support of my wife of 20 years, Karen.
