Hardee Investment Group honors the J.E.W.E.L.s of Fort Bend County

Since 2008, the Fort Bend Focus selects five Joyous, Extraordinary Women Enriching Lives or J.E.W.E.L.s to honor annually with a champagne reception, luncheon and style show. Over the years, the event has honored 20 fabulous women.

The Hardee Investment Group has been involved since the luncheon’s inception as underwriters of the Champagne Reception. As reception underwriters, we have had a unique opportunity to personally thank the J.E.W.E.L.s for their never ending commitment to bettering our community through a multitude of activities. And we’d like to take this opportunity to thank ALL J.E.W.E.L.s again for their donations of time, resources, and monetary contributions; all of which have made Fort Bend County a much happier and healthier place to live.

Denver Children Receive Tricycles Thanks To Team Summit

In early June, dozens of kids at Denver’s Tennyson Center for Children received new tricycles, thanks to RBC Wealth Management employees who gathered from across the country to take part in the Team Summit. The one-and-a-half day workshop for high-producing teams focused on increasing efficiency and effectiveness. The tricycle build event was organized for attendees to help reinforce the team-building theme, while also giving back to a great cause.

After the attendees divided up in teams to build their tricycle, RBC Wealth Management donated the tricycles to Tennyson Center, Colorado’s leading care and education center for abused, neglected and at-risk children. A $2,000 donation was also made to the organization – a combination of donations from attendees and a gift match from the firm.

The tricycle build received local media attention, including a story that aired on Denver’s NBC News affiliate. Watch the story here.

Exchange Club of Sugar Land’s Annual Spaghetti Dinner Cook-off

The Annual Spaghetti Cook-off, hosted by the Sugar Land Exchange Club, raising over $100,000 in previous years, allows this service organization to generously give back to the community in which it operates.

The Exchange Club of Sugar Land serves the best spaghetti outside of Italy, which is prepared by local law enforcement agencies. In past years, some of the agencies have dressed is elaborate costumes to attract people to their booth, which only adds to the fun.

This family-oriented evening includes a silent auction, raffle, face painters, children's games, music from talented local folks, and ambiance completes this fun-filled evening. In an effort to raise additional funds to be given back to the community, a Smart Car was raffled off and won by Sam Cornelius.

The cook off is the Exchange Club of Sugar Land's primary annual fund raiser. All proceeds benefit local charitable causes including Fort Bend Crime Stoppers, the Fort Bend ESCAPE Family Resource Center, the Fort Bend Family YMCA, and many other worthy recipients.
