Janelle Nelson
Vice President, Portfolio Analyst

Janelle Nelson has been a Portfolio Analyst with RBC Wealth Management’s Portfolio Advisory Group since 1993. An industry professional since 1984, she has been with the firm since 1991, and was previously affiliated with several Wall Street firms, including Citigroup (Smith Barney) and Morgan Stanley. She has been broadly quoted on the markets in local and national media, and is a popular speaker for individual investor events. Janelle is part of a team that actively manages two equity income strategies for the firm, the Guided Portfolio: Prime Income and Guided Portfolio: Dividend Growth. Within the team, she takes a strategic focus on non-traditional cash-flow securities and energy-related companies. Janelle holds a B.A. from the University of Minnesota in political science and economics.

Malia Haskins
Vice President – Wealth Strategies Consultant/Estate and High Net Worth

Malia has been with RBC Wealth Management since 2004. After receiving her B.A. degree from Luther College and a J.D. from William Mitchell Law School, she spent six years in the financial service industry. Malia works with clients’ attorneys, accountants, and other professionals to implement clients’ financial strategies. With RBC Wealth Management Financial Advisors, Malia helps to develop integrative and appropriate wealth management solutions for clients in the areas of estate planning, retirement planning, stock option planning, charitable giving, education funding and wealth transfer. Malia has significant expertise in a wide array of estate planning vehicles, including Charitable Remainder Trusts, Grantor Trusts, Qualified Personal Residence Trusts, Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts, Family Limited Partnerships and Family Limited Liability companies.

Vice President – Wealth Management Consultant

Judi has been with RBC Wealth Management since 1996. Before assuming her role as Wealth Management Consultant, Judi was a product consultant in RBC Wealth Management’s Investment Advisor Group in Minneapolis, specializing in managed assets. Judi attended the University of Texas at Austin, and has received the Accredited Wealth Manager (AWM) designation. As a Wealth Management Consultant, Judi helps RBC Wealth Management financial advisors address the investment and retirement planning needs of their clients. She assists financial advisors in analyzing clients’ risk tolerance and investment goals. She works closely with clients to select appropriate money managers to help meet their financial goals and then reviews the performance of the selected money managers. Judi also helps clients understand investment fiduciary responsibility and in developing investment policy statements.

Paul Fee, CLU, CHFC
Vice President – Wealth Planning and Insurance Consultant

Paul has been with RBC Wealth Management since 1997. Previously, he spent 10 years in the financial services industry. Paul received his B.A. degree from St. Mary’s University. He holds the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations. As part of his responsibilities, Paul works with RBC Wealth Management Financial Advisors to develop retirement plans for businesses and succession plans for families. Paul specializes in employing insurance-based strategies and solutions to help clients achieve their wealth transfer goals. Paul also works closely with clients’ financial and legal advisers to establish appropriate wealth planning and insurance strategies.

David Fiacco
Trust Consultant

David has been in the financial service industry since 1995. He has worked with clients both as a wealth manager and as a trust officer. David earned a B.A. in business management from Gettysburg College and a M.B.A. with a concentration in business management from Goldey-Beacom College in Wilmington, Delaware. David manages the sales team of Trust Consultants who focus on collaborating with RBC Wealth Management® Financial Advisors to help clients in the United States and around the world choose trust solutions that are appropriate for their wealth management goal. David and his team have two primary goals: to enhance the relationship clients have with their RBC Wealth Management Financial Advisor and to identify trust solutions that both optimize opportunities and mitigate risks. In addition to providing expert recommendations on a broad range of specific trust structures, he and his team have a deep knowledge of the Delaware trust system. Additionally, he and his team also have a strong background in retail investing — with a special emphasis on understanding and complying with fiduciary responsibilities related to investments held in trusts.

Matthew Kirby
Senior Credit Officer

Matt has worked in the financial services industry for 18 years. Matt received a B.S. degree from the University of Delaware. With a diverse background in lending services and financial instruments, Matt brings a broad based perspective to understanding clients’ credit needs. Matt provides recommendations to RBC Wealth Management financial advisors on how to help clients use collateralized securities to help meet a variety of goals, including real estate purchases, bridge financing, construction financing and leveraging of investment portfolios. Matt will consult with clients on credit and lending issues, and is also involved in structuring and initiating all aspects of the loans and lines of credit written through International Wealth Management.

Vice President – Wealth Strategies Consultant/Estate and High Net Worth

Vickie has been with RBC Wealth Management since 2004. Previously, she spent 18 years in the financial services industry, holding various positions in wealth planning. She also has extensive background working family businesses. Vickie received her B.S. degree from Southwest Missouri State University. As part of her responsibilities, Vickie works with RBC Wealth Management Financial Advisors to develop appropriate wealth management solutions for clients. She provides a range of financial, investment, personal trust, estate, tax minimization and stock option strategies. In addition, Vickie helps design and implement plans to help maximize the retention and succession of family wealth.

Scott Rogneby
Vice President – Retirement Plan Consultant

Scott has been with RBC Wealth Management since 1996 and has 11 years of previous experience in the financial services industry. Scott received his B.A. degree from the University of Minnesota, and holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary designation. As part of his responsibilities, Scott consults with corporations and non-profit groups of all sizes to help develop strategies and solutions for their ERISA and non-ERISA retirement plan needs. He has in-depth experience in analyzing organizations’ retirement plan needs and recommending appropriate vehicles, including 401(k), profit-sharing and defined benefit plans, and SIMPLE and SEP IRAs. Scott incorporates his extensive research regarding retirement plan providers to better assist RBC Wealth Management Financial Advisors in servicing clients’ retirement plans. Scott is involved in the creation and maintenance of investment policy statements, investment monitoring, plan design and portfolio consulting.

Erik Bresnahan
Municipal Credit Strategist, PAG – Fixed Income Strategies Group, RBC Wealth Management

Erik joined the Fixed Income Strategies group in March 2010 with over fifteen years of experience in municipal finance. Erik employs his extensive municipal credit underwriting and business development skills to provide Financial Advisors and traders with issuer specific and general market analysis. His career in municipal finance includes positions at a state housing finance agency, a rating agency and a credit enhancer.


Phil Lankford
Vice President – Senior Portfolio Strategist

Phil has over 30 years of experience in the municipal bond industry. He worked as a trader for over twenty-five years, including eighteen with RBC Wealth Management. He has been a part of the Fixed Income Strategies Group for five years. Phil utilizes his extensive market experience, sharp analytical skills, and broad list of trading and sales contacts to recognize opportunities and value in the municipal bond market. These are put to use in recommending strategies designed to help optimize the performance of a client’s portfolio. Phil is also a regular contributor to the Daily Market View and the monthly Municipal Market Focus.
